Interested in a class that will stimulate your metabolism and give your workouts an extra boost? Why haven’t you tried boot camp yet?
The first class that The Training Floor hosted started last year outside with a small group of ladies and was pronounced a BOOT CAMP class. Running sprints and flipping tires these women were in for the workout of their lives. A few of those ladies have stuck with it for the past year and progressed to achieve more than they ever thought possible. This is what they have to say:

Darcie
“Back in August when I started taking boot camp I was running 5 to 6 days a week 3-5 miles a day plus 2 to 3 days of strength training which included push ups, dips, jack knives, assisted pull ups and abs.  I still wasn’t where I wanted to be.  I started with boot camp and it was a challenge.  I was sore for days after the first class and tried to go 2 to 3 times a week depending on my schedule on the off days I would run.  Eventually I started running even on the days I had boot camp usually at lunch and now I run right after class.  Towards the end of the Summer I tired Strength and Agility and Kettle bell.  Both proved to be a challenge.  Today I am still running 3 to 5 miles a day, 5 to 6 days a week plus I take 3 to 5 classes a week which is a mix of boot camp, kettle bell, and strength and agility.  This workout schedule has increased my endurance and improved my muscle tone.
As far as my diet goes I thought I was a pretty good eater.  I would have cereal and a banana for breakfast, salad w/chicken for lunch and then protein and veggies for dinner.  A few months ago I decided to be really disciplined and cut out all sweets and ate three small meals.  I lost my energy level and was struggling through my workouts.  After getting some diet tips from The Training Floor I adjusted my diet to include a mid morning and mid afternoon snack I changed my breakfast to eggs, oatmeal and fruit and cut out carbs after 3pm.  This is when I started to see the changes in my weight.  I lost about 7 lbs and a size or 2 in my clothes.  I used to be a 6 and now am a 2. I am finally right around where I want to be physically and size/weight-wise.  I am in the best physical shape of my life at 38 yrs old and I feel great.  Thank you Cat, George and Ray for getting me where I am today!!”

“In the beginning I was very nervous about coming firstly to an outside boot camp – I didn’t know anybody and was very nervous about what to expect both from the trainer and the others in the class plus would I be able to do the exercises???… I decided to try them and then after coming to a few classes I found them getting easier and started to find confidence within myself.Back in ’08 I was working out running and doing step classes and some weight training.  Nothing like what I got at TF boot camp, lifting heavy tires, I remember my first super plank and BURPEE outside, man they were insane!! I felt like I was going to throw up!!

I now feel in May of ’09 almost a year after joining the TF in great shape,  have strong core muscles and I love all the cardio and strength training that I benefit from each of the classes and I continue to see results…  i have also learned to accept my body, listen to it With proper diet and exercise, you can do a lot to alter your shape, but you also have to accept the role genetics play. Once you understand your basic shape, you can let go of unattainable goals and replace them with real ones. Identify your best features and enhance them.
The Training Floor keeps me challenged and helps me move toward my goal daily…
Thanks guys, keep up the good work!!”

“I started going to boot camp last August.  Darcie had seen the newspaper article about the Training Floor and I was feeling out of shape and not ready for my September wedding.  Darcie made me commit myself to going to boot camp at least until I got married.  As you know, I went to your class twice a week.  I was rather motivated with both the wedding and Darcie pushing me to go.  By September, with just one month of attendance, I felt great!  I didn’t look much different but I felt good about myself.

After I got married, however, I slacked off.  I was on again, off again with my attendance and I eventually slowed down.  I couldn’t keep up with my workout buddies and started feeling self conscious.  So I stopped for a while.

This year, I’m trying to get back on track by starting out with the beginner courses for both boot camp and kettlebell.  Although work commitments, vacation and family emergencies have made my attendance spotty, I feel good about starting over again.

I really enjoy the Training Floor and its trainers.  You guys have been especially motivating and push me to work harder when I am ready to call it quits.  I must admit that I was intimidated at first but, like I said, I am enjoying being a member of such a great place.”

“The TF has definitely changed my life. I started a year after the birth of my third child. It was the summer of ’08 and I was a size 12. I can still remember the feeling of nausea that came over me during my first intense outdoor boot camp workout. It was truly unlike anything I had ever tried before. I didn’t know I would be able to finish but pride pulled me through. After all I couldn’t allow a bunch of strangers to see me pass out!! Well fast forward 9 months, those “strangers” are now my dear friends and I am now wearing a size 8. Oddly at the beginning of this journey, that was my goal, but now I that I am there, I realize I still have more left in me!!! The TF trainers have taught me anything is possible if you want it enough and are willing to work for it. They have made working out enjoyable by offering a variety of challenging classes and always mixing it up. Their support and encouragement make me believe I can dream bigger. I LOVE YOU TF!!!!”

In the year of ’09 there are exciting events that will be happening at The Training Floor. We never stop learning, growing, and expanding here. I’d like to applaud and share my gratitude with those of you who have been by my side since the beginning. To celebrate and continue to press forward with those of you who have filtered in since 08 til now. Lastly encourage you to share your Training Floor experience with family, friends, and co-workers. Fitness can be fun- spread the word! Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement so lets keep working hard! It truly is all about YOU!
