Bar-B-Q’s
Barbeques are great in the summer. Good people, good fun, good Food. š If you have a barbeque and you want to keep a healthy diet but don’t want to disappoint your guest with grilled chicken,Vegetables and salad. Here are some ways everyone is Happy.
For starters haveĀ out multi grain tortilla chips with salsa and Humus. Both light and healthy
A nice Vegetable spread with homemade spinach dip.
Make burgers with 90% lean beef. Much less fat than your original 80/20 or 85/15. You can also add seasonings of choice for more flavor. No one will tell the difference. Trust me.
Use Swiss or Cheddar cheese on the burgers and get Whole wheat or Multi grain buns. Just as good.
You canĀ even get Turkey dogs instead of regular hot dogs.Ā Also a little better in fat and calories.
Use fat-free or light mayo for your potato salad
For steaks, choose lean meats like flank steak, top round, or evenĀ a nice london broil.
Of course Grilled Chicken. Barbeque sauce is ok as well. š
Then you got your Mixed green salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing. Add salt and pepper to taste. Maybe a little garlic powder, squeeze some fresh lemon and your golden.
Even though we all know alcohol is not good for your diet or in general. We know thatĀ there will be Beer and or alcohol involved. I mean,We are all adults here. So have light beer or a cranberry and Vodka if needed. Even a nice red wine would be good.
Or just have some fresh squeezed lemonadeĀ or homemade sun tea. Even Better.
